He opened his eyes once more, though only slightly. Just enough for him to watch her movements as she came even closer to him. “You’re too good to me,” Sam said softly, the circular motion and pressure of her fingers relieving built up tension in his shoulders. He’d started to get used to it, but now it all seemed to melt away all at once. How it must have been weighing him down became that much more apparent, and he felt quite guilty. He was barely handling himself. Sam could hardly imagine what it must have been like for his men. How it was for Sally to have him like this every day when he got home.
“I think we need a VACATION,” Sam said, his voice stronger and steadier than it had been before as he pulled back. One arm wrapped around Sally’s waist as he pulled her in close to him, a none too subtle invitation for her to sit on his lap. “I want to get away from it all with you right there with me. What d’ya think? Find ourselves a quiet beach and just…let the world turn without us fer a while.”
even if she had wanted to fight him, the strong hold of his arm around her waist would have made it almost impossible for sally to walk away from him. and when she fell on his lap, one of her shoes dropping to the carpeted floor with a muffled thud, the woman made sure her mouth would meet his for a kiss. sweetly, tongue coming out to trace along his bottom lip while she smiled at him. ❝ well, mister. you just read my mind. ❞ the thought of running away with him, if only to find themselves back in town after a few weeks of being just the two of them and an empty beach, was enough to make her imagination run wild - her heart to almost leap out of her chest and into his hand.
❝ can you see it, baby? ❞ long fingers shuffled to undo the tie around his neck, shove it mercilessly to the floor ( where it joined her shoe ) and continue with the top button of his dressing shirt. ❝ me in a bathing suit — a sensual bathing suit. and you … a piña colada in one hand, the other grabbing my ass. ❞ when she laughed, a joyful sound that even shook her chest, sally’s eyes rose to meet his gaze. ❝ we may never want to come back. ❞
