muscles tense, taut beneath scarred flesh but he made no move against her, no not yet. but his ire rose in the back of his throat like bile. so very badly did he want to sink fingers into her guts, slather his flesh with her blood until it dripped from every article of clothing he wore. soon he would BATHE in her.
oh she knew how to push his buttons!
❛vulgar little minx aren’t you.❜ came the whispered, labored breath. the more she fought, the more she used that TONGUE of hers like a weapon wielded so masterfully the more he desired the addict to succumb to his blade. ❛i’ll put that tongue to better use when we reach our destination, if you cannot SPEAK like a proper young lady, perhaps you can scream like one.❜ came the retort.
though she was correct about the loneliness, she had been here trapped within the confines of the hotel for a much longer period of time and while eddie was just learning about said hotel, collecting brides had not been an issue seeing as the guests were plentiful. no this place had not yet lost its’ luster for him as it had for her. not yet at least. right now he was savoring every moment.
as she paused at the top of the stairs, he did as well. offering a tight lipped smile, eyes heavily lidded. ❛you haven’t learned to keep that pretty mouth of yours shut darling but i’m here to teach you manners. no hard feelings, right?❜ and he reached up to ghost fingertips along her cheek and jawline, the movement was slow and offered plenty of time for her to slap his hand away. he wished she would.
❛come, i’ve just the place. i believe you’re familiar with it.❜ he began to descend the stairs, headed towards the bowels of the hotel. ❛your torture chamber has had plenty of use over the years hasn’t it? but have you ever experienced such exquisite pain there yourself, darling?’
Sally not only wanted to slap his hand away; she wanted to bare her teeth and let them bite down on the long fingers, taste Eddie’s blood in her mouth and flush the still warm parts of him down the toilet — see how well you can work then, see if it doesn’t hurt. However, the junkie knew better than to piss him off and give the infamous torturer even more reason to maul her body beyond repair, goodness knew he wouldn’t hesitate to leave her on the verge of a second death if provoked. Deadly glares were shot, but before she could do something about the unwanted touch making her cheek and jaw itch, the man leading her to the dungeon just downstairs resumed his way and Sally was forced to follow, heels echoing through the gilded walls every time she took a shaky, drunken step towards their final destination. It was her turn to be the dog, obedient and under its master’s control. You’re nothing but tonight’s prey, a lovely dessert he can’t wait to devour until there’s little left.
“Yeah, right… No hard feelings — let’s be best buddies for life.” Sally spat at him in return, words loaded with poisonous sarcasm; he had to be shitting her, right? “You know us ghosts, we don’t hold grudges.” As they reached the bottom of the stairs, the blonde looked over her shoulder to spare the front doors a quick glance. If only she could leave, run as fast as her short legs allowed her to and put some safe distance between herself and the torture chamber just waiting to swallow her existence. A girl could dream, not even Eddie’s sharp blade could stop her heart from making silent wishes that’d never become true.
The sound of a heavy door being opened brought her attention back to painful reality and almost made her jump — coward against the nearest corner like a beaten animal… yet she was way too proud to let Eddie see the fate he had in store for her had her poor heart absolutely terrified. Sally knew that pungent odor coming from inside the dark basement, feeling it all over her nose was the closest thing to being welcomed home after a long trip… At least until now. “It’s been useful, yes.” She cleared her throat, desperately trying to get rid of that knot making it almost impossible for sweet oxygen to reach her lungs, no matter how hard she gasped for air. Acting far braver than she felt, Sally poked her head through the door frame, squinting her eyes to try and make something out of the complete darkness surrounding them. “But you know that already, don’t you? Stop being a goddamn tease… Believe me, it doesn’t suit you.”
She knew what was inside, there was no point in wasting everyone’s time by staring for too long. Instead of waiting for his command, the junkie seized life by the balls and began her tortuous descent down the rusty stairs, letting the railway be her only guidance as she stepped into the only room in the entire hotel she once learned to love. Say bye bye to the real world, Sally… No one will come looking for you —— no one gives a damn.
