at the insinuation of him getting off from such a thing he said nothing but merely glanced toward the now snuffed out cigarette he made a small sound of disgust, those things are terrible for you, you know. horrible habit, does incredible damage to your body, not just the lungs. speaking as though they both weren’t already dead. a woman with rotted teeth and who reeks of nicotine is hardly desirable.

and as she moved he remained a step or two behind her, a dog slathering at her feet, nipping at her heels as she led the way to the slaughter with him herding. hungry.

must you be so vulgar dear? that ..mouth..but don’t worry, we can fix that when we reach our destination. came the chipper response. no more cursing, no more backtalk, you’ll be the perfect young lady i know you can be. then perhaps, darling, you won’t be so lonely. hands now cupped behind his back as the pace became a saunter. he was in no hurry, he wanted to savor this moment.

a good girl? voice lowered as he chuckled, lip curling. you’re far from it, aren’t you. it’s why i’m here. why i need to punish you. then he paused at the glare she gave him, he shook his head,  now darling you know this isn’t my fault. i see your anger, your rage, do i deserve such ire?  spoken as innocently as possible.

As her fragile feet carried her away from the Blue Parrot Lounge and towards the front stairs of the Cortez, Sally could almost feel his nasty breath making the short hairs on the back of her head stand straight up, body completely on edge. At least her mind was intoxicated enough to help her keep all feelings ( or at least most of them ) locked somewhere safe—— somewhere far away from her reach, where they couldn’t hurt her or make her do something rash she’d end up regretting later. The ragged ghost knew the drill, she was well aware of how things worked with Eddie; scream and you’ll lose your tongue, try to run away and I’ll take your legs. Sally had seen it, so many times before… she had dipped her hands in the blood of others and laughed at their suffering, for it was the perfect way to relieve some of that misery making her chest feel heavy day after day—— guess it was her turn to be torn apart by her very own old friend.

“This is my home, you creep… Shut your fucking trap and let me swear all I want—— you have no right to talk to me.” Enough was enough, Sally couldn’t stop herself from looking over her shoulder to keep a close eye on the tall man following her like a dog, make sure he wouldn’t take a blow at her head and knock her lights out to make things easier. Part of her wished she hadn’t done that… His was the face of true evil staring right back at her, like she was nothing but a very desirable piece of meat about to be cooked and served for dinner. The best defense against his morbid ways? Let her sharp claws come out to play, slap him with her words. “You don’t know two shits about my loneliness—— about my past. Do yourself a favor and get a fucking mirror… Maybe a plastic bag to hide your fugly face will do the trick and get you a half decent bride.”

There it was again, her infamously big mouth… Sally had to bite down on her cheek to swallow a second avalanche of insults that would make her sink even deeper into her already fucked up situation. Eddie’s last question was met by silence from her end, the junkie wasn’t about to give him even more reasons to knock himself out and hurt her like there was no tomorrow. With her teeth still digging into the tender skin of her inner cheek ( and a hand gripping the railing for dear life ) she made it to the bottom of the stairs and stopped dead in her tracks to let him catch up with her. “Lead the way, Mr. Man—— let them all see Hypodermic Sally is finally getting what she deserves.”
